Hi, my name is John Wilbur and I'm the Sports Director for WINY.  I live in Douglas, MA and grew up in Webster, MA.  I graduated from Bartlett High School in Webster where I played football and baseball for the Indians.  Than moved to Falmouth, MA where I shell fished commercially for 3 years before moving back to Webster.  In 1999 I got married to my beautiful wife Dawn, we have no children but we do have a beautiful Great Pieranese named Roxy and a little boy Tiger named Billy.

Before following my passion for sports and radio, I worked as a chef and than as the Food Service Director of a nursing home in Milford, Ma.  I attended the Connecticut School of Broadcasting in the winter of 2005 and began my Radio career in Boston as a street teamer for Mike FM and WAAF until Gary and Karen Osbrey gave me my first on-air gig as a Sports Anchor/Reporter.  Thank you!!!  I'm loving it.  Along with my wife Dawn, I oan and operate a mobile Disk Jockey Service called JD's -DJ where "party" is our middle name.  If you're looking for an affordable fun DJ service you've found them.  So give us a call the next time you're planning an event for the best party in town (508) 476-3709 or email us at jds-dj@charter.net.  I'm a die-hard Red Sox fan and love the New England Patriots.  Boston Sports are the best in the country and I hope to someday be the voice of one of the best cities in the world.  I currently play baseball in the spring and summer for the Griswold Diamond Backs of the MSBL over thirty league in Jewett City.  I'm a catcher and have been with Diamond Backs for 6 seasons soon to be 7.  If there's something you'd like to ask me, you can email me here at the station at news@winyradio.com.
