"Brother John The Preacher's Son"
Jonathan DuVall
Morning News Anchor/Reporter

Jonathan DuVall was born in Findlay Ohio and at the age of 3 was forced to move to Vernon Connecticut with his parents in 1971.

DuVall's father was an ordained minister working on his thesis at the Hartford Seminary while his Mother worked as an elementary school teacher in East Hartford Connecticut.

DuVall lived in several towns while growing up including Granby and Windham, where he graduated from Windham High School in 1987.  He went to Heidelberg College and worked at a local radio station in Ohio for two years before answering the call to serve in the United States of America in the Air Force.

Brother John returned to Connecticut in 2002 to assist his Grandfather who was now living with his parents and diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.  At this time, Brother John chose to finish his college education and received a Bachelors Degree from Eastern Connecticut State University in 2007.  Brother John worked in Willimantic at a local radio station when he learned of an opening here at WINY and is now our morning news anchor.

Brother John says that WINY is doing exactly what local radio stations should be doing;
"WINY is dedicated to the local communities and if somebody wants to know what is happening in their town all they have to do is turn their radio to 1350 AM to find out."
