Andrew Morrison, Afternoon News Anchor/Reporter

“All I ever wanted was to see something new everyday and tell a story about it.”

                                                HBO’s The Wire

Andrew Vincent Morrison (Andy to anyone and everyone who knows him personally) was born and raised in Thompson, Connecticut.

In 2004, Andrew graduated from Tourtellotte Memorial High School and proudly addressed those gathered at the graduation ceremony in his capacity as Senior Class President. That same year, Andrew was also a member of the first graduating class from the Arts at the Capital Theatre magnet high school in Willimantic, CT.

Since graduating high school, Andrew has lived in Willimantic, Woburn, MA, Burbank, CA, and Hartford, CT.

In 2005, Andrew received a Professional Certificate in Digitial Filmmaking (he acknowledges the oxymoron) from the Center for Digital Imaging Arts at Boston University. Andrew has also received 2 years worth of credit as an undergraduate at Eastern Connecticut State University and Capital Community College of Hartford. Andrew currently hopes to major in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations at Worcester State College.

Since the age of fifteen, Andrew has immersed himself in the creative arts both professionally and educationally, resulting in an array of experience in a multitude of mediums and roles.  Some of his most meaningful experiences include:

In January 2008, Andrew was fortunate to begin working with WINY Radio and has since assumed the duties of News Reporter and Anchor. WINY has provided Andrew with a wonderful opportunity to utilize his wide array of passions and skills, for which he is extremely grateful. To make a living through writing, learning from people, telling stories and being a goofball with Zach in the Afternoon seems too good to be true.
